6/21/2012- Did I mention it is heating up?!?!  It is officially summer and we have been enjoying playing in the sun!  After having a lot of fun at the Ohio Horse and Soul Tour with Newton, where he got some really nice compliments from Pat and Linda, I came home to the Ranch here in Michigan with Dancin’ Pete Rodda.  We put on four days of Workshops that stretched the two of us to be better Instructors and Horsemen as we learned from each other in the spirit of never ending self improvement and to help our students.  It was a great experience that has given me new ways to teach some concepts and present information.

Before we were able to host everyone, students and horses, Pete and I needed to get the Ranch looking Safe, Functional, Clean, Green and Handsome.  With the help of my Intern, Katie, my Dad and a few others we mowed, weedwacked, rotto tilled and scooped manure.  We have been modifying existing fence and building new pasture.  With all of these projects done we were able to host a great weekend of learning as well as being able to bring in a group of horses for development.

Some of these horses are projects that need special attention and others are cleaner slates that need to get started.  With the new additions the Ranch is a busy place with lots of students and horses getting time and education.  It has been a dream of mine to have something like this and this month it is really coming together allowing me to see the potential of what is possible for Pear Tree Ranch.

As much as I enjoy being home I still need to travel to get to all the people and horses that need help.  I hit the road again in July to be a part of the St. Paul, Minnesota Tour Stop and then begin a month of Developing horses in Illinois at Blue Moon Farm and also doing some teaching on the weekends.  As always I hope you get to be a part of my Journey and I see you sooner rather than later!
