10/28/2012

10/28/2012  Well as I have been traveling the country helping people and their horses, I have learned a lot over the last year.  This month was the one year anniversary of my first workshops as a 3-Star Instructor.  I have learned things to do, not to do, things that help horses and things that help humans.  Everyday presents us with learning opportunities we just must take advantage when they appear.  It takes an awareness to recognize these opportunities and other things in life.  You can have an awareness on many different levels and as we develop ourselves we should really push ourselves to stretch our awareness as much as possible.

If you have read my bio you know I spent a lot of time at Tom Brown’s Tracker School studying Wilderness survival and Awareness was a huge part of what we learned there.  As I have moved my journey to involve horses I have been able to apply many skills learned from Tom to my horsemanship.  Awareness has been a huge thing that has helped me be able to be progressive with my horsemanship and horse development.  Did you see what you thought you saw, was it your personal filter that created your perspective on a situation or were you able to remove yourself and see it as pure as possible?  Our perspective is our reality and we should try and see life from as many angles as possible.  That way we can understand better.  Oh yeah…… Horsemanship based on Communication, UNDERSTANDING, and psychology.

I hope to see you along the road sooner rather than later!
